Vespa scooters typically use a single-sided rear suspension system. The design is commonly known as a single-sided swingarm or monoshock suspension.
In this setup, the rear wheel is attached to a single swingarm that pivots on one side of the scooter. A shock absorber (monoshock) is usually mounted on the opposite side of the swingarm, providing suspension damping and support.
